Boost Your Filmmaking Skills With a DFG Internship
DFG currently has vacancies for raring-to-go interns. If you are looking to build up your documentary filmmaking skills.
DFG's internship scheme - a unique opportunity for new filmmakers to learn about the documentary and factual television industry in a practical, work environment at the same time as undertaking industry-focussed training - is now open for several internships with an immediate start.
To help you focus your ambitions, we have opportunities available in two key areas of our work:
1. Marketing & Online: Supporting DFG in its web output, pushing out our industry focused opportunities to the wider world and helping to deliver our schedule of industry-focussed editorial.
2. Training & development: Supporting our current training and production initiatives, currently taking place throughout London. This opportunity will involve some weekend activities.
Internship dates available:
Please get in touch if you are interested in other dates.
"Interning with DFG enabled me to deepen my understanding of the UK Documentary Industry, build up my practical filmmaking skills through top-quality training courses, access a useful network of contacts and work with really lovely people. I definitely recommend it!"

About The 'Hard Graft':
You might be helping us to prepare for our next event or course, or assisting with the content of the DFG website. (Good writing skills are always welcome - although not essential - and there's the opportunity to write reviews and articles.) Alternatively, you might be gathering data for marketing strategy. When DFG or its sister production company have productions underway, there are sometimes opportunities to assist with these too.
We are always happy to provide references and recommend good interns for work within the industry. Previous interns have gone on to work for a variety of production companies, as well as make their own films.
So if you are committed and hard-working, and you want to find out more about interning with DFG then please email a CV to Amber on amber@thedfg.org with the following info:
- A current CV
- A paragraph about yourself (include any details about previous office and relevant experience)
- Which opportunity you are interested in
