Submissions for the Mini-MeetMarket are now closed. Click here to find out which filmmakers were sucessful.
The Mini-MeetMarket is a unique opportunity for new and emerging documentary filmmakers to meet executive producers in an informal setting at the Sheffield DocFest.
We select participants based on your idea and whether you are at the right stage in your career to benefit from the experience. You can apply with shorts, features, tv or multi-platform projects, and we'll be looking for ideas with the potential to be realised in today's market.
Submit your project to this pitching and steering session, taking place on the morning of Friday 5th November 2010. The session is open to Sheffield DocFest delegates and DFG Day passholders, who will have the opportunity to meet industry movers and shakers in an intimate roundtable environment.
The aim is simple: to enable you to get feedback on your documentary idea, no matter how undeveloped it is at this stage. You’ll get a response on how you pitched it as well as pointers on how it needs developing, where to go next, and how to improve your chances of getting funding.
Filmmakers are invited to submit a short proposal – no more than 250 words in length – together with a brief biography and full contact details to meghna@dfgdocs.com by 5pm on Wednesday 13th October 2010. The application must fit on one side of A4.
Up to 30 projects will be selected to take part in this event, and the successful projects will be notified in the week beginning 18th October.
Mentors confirmed include:
Lucy Baxter, Mandrake Films
Natasha Dack, Tigerlily Films
Christopher Hird, Dartmouth Pictures
Andre Singer, West Park Pictures
Richard Sattin, Parthenon Entertainment
Sandra Whipham, formerly Commissioning Editor, More4
Please note: to be eligible for this event, you must be planning to attend the Sheffield DocFest either as a delegate or as a DFG Day passholder. You must also be available to attend meetings on the morning of Friday 5th November 2010.
