Part of Rushes Soho Shorts
Documentary filmmaking has seen an unprecedented rise in recent years, with both short and feature length documentaries drawing significant new audiences. Affordable, easy-to-use equipment has made it possible for almost anybody with a good story to tell to become a documentary filmmaker. The internet offers exciting new distribution opportunities and has made it easier to cultivate niche audiences.
DFG presents a panel discussion that looks at the changing landscape of documentary and the new opportunities this presents for filmmakers. Come and hear from:
- Liz Mermin, Director (Horses/ Office Tigers/ Shot in Bombay)
- Christopher Hird, Executive Producer, Dartmouth Films (The End of the Line, Black Gold)
- Andrew Lang, Director (Sons of Cuba)
As they discuss the innovative ways they’ve got films off the ground and out to an audience.
Monday 26th July, 5pm
Apple Store Regent Street
