Call For Entries - The Power of Nature. Closing date 20th December.
During Sheffield Doc/Fest The Channel Four BRITDOC Foundation announced that The National Trust, in collaboration with the NHS Sustainable Development Unit and supported by Arla, one of the largest dairy companies in Europe, is looking to assist in funding and distributing a feature documentary film that examines societies contemporary relationship with nature.
Over the past 5 years a number of studies have shown that time spent in nature has a strong positive impact on everything from physical and mental health in children and adults, to social cohesion, crime rates, and beyond.
The funders are looking for a film that explores this territory in a fresh and compelling way, that can be used to trigger a national conversation, providing a tipping-point in awareness and, ultimately, may even drive towards policy change. There will be extensive PR support for the project over the course of its production and at the time of its release.
Entries for the project could be either:
- a new ideas for a feature film to be made during 2011.
- a film already being made either for a broadcaster or independently
- The fund is open to feature documentary films and ideas of all types, tones and styles.
