There is now a whole new generation of compact HDV cameras that can shoot broadcast quality footage. They are ideal for shooting in environments when you need to be inconspicuous or you don't want your contributors to be too aware of the camera, when are you are moving around a lot and need a lightweight solution, or when you need to get gear into foreign environments easily. They are also useful for shooting for content for multi-platform.
This two workshop uses the Sony A1 camera to teach you the fundamentals of self-shooting, starting with basic manual functions in controlled environments, and moving onto shooting in complex uncontrolled environments. You will learn how to get the most out of Sony A1's and how to use their portability to your advantage, as well as how use them to produce broadcast quality video and audio.
